An insufficiently identified passage, Titus Livius' editio princeps, Giovanni Andrea Bussi, third book of De ratione dicendi, J. L. VivesAbstract
In the chapter entitled De Historia from the third book of philosophic-rhetorical treatise De ratione dicendi written by J. L. Vives it is clearly noticeable a long quotation from Historiarum Romanarum Decades edited by Giovanni Andrea Bussi, Bishop of Aleria. Modern scholars have not been able yet to identify it properly. Throughout these pages, we try to state that this quotation is literally taken from the Epistola ad summum Pontificem Paulum II Venetum, which goes before Titus Livius’ historical work, edited at Rome by Giovanni Andrea Bussi, around 1469.
