Recent development of the KL5 Kappabridge (Agico) al- lows the measurement of the Anisotropy of Magnetic Sus-ceptibility of standard specimens in one position, avoiding the more time-consuming techniques of three or 15 positions in older systems. The need for regular, standard specimens (cylindrical or cubic with precise dimensions) is often a drawback for using the automated systems. This factor, in addition to the growing need of sampling fine- grained lithologies (in the case of detrital rocks) or the impossibility of sampling compact rocks by means of con- ventional methods (i.e. the case of fault rocks or rocks with strong fissility) led us to produce low-cost, cubic holders by means of a 3D printer. In this paper we analyze the magnetic properties of the different plastic qualities used and provide a comparison between the results obtained from standard specimens and the proposed oriented fragments technique.
