The El Castellar Formation (late Hauterivian-early Barremian) in the Castillo de Aliaga section (Galve sub-basin, NE Spain) consists mainly of lacustrine marls and limestones. The spectral analysis of time series (depth domain) constructed from data of magnetic susceptibility and lithology shows the presence of three stratigraphic cycles, with periodicities of ~57, ~13 and ~3 m. These cycles have been attributed to large eccentricity (405 kyr), short eccentricity (95 kyr) and large precession (22.4 kyr) cycles, respectively. The series comprises 10 complete cycles of short eccentricity and another two incomplete, so that the studied succession would represent a time interval of ca. 1 Ma, what is in accordance with the chronostratigraphic framework of the subbasin.
