Flamenco in the province of Cadiz: implementation in Early Childhood Education

This document deals with an experience carried out in various Pre-schools in the province of Cadiz. Students from 3rd year degree, as well as teachers and infants under their care, have participated in this experience. Both qualitative and quantitative methodology has been used, by means of complementary discourse. Objectives such as finding out the level of knowledge or the treatment of flamenco on the part of teachers have been pursued. We have also focused on discovering the perception of teachers and their students of the educational proposals put forward. On the other hand, an attempt has been made to encourage an approach to the native cultural heritage, contemplating the treatment of primary emotions and promoting children's awareness of flamenco, in order to promote the construction of their cultural identity and, therefore, their personal one. With the application of the didactic proposals elaborated ad hoc and the preparation and administration of a questionnaire, for the teachers of the second cycle of Infant Education in representative schools of the province of Cadiz, results have been obtained such as a greater identification of the primary emotions, as well as a development of the rhythmic sense and the auditory perception of the children. It corroborates the interest and motivation that has elicited the implementation of musical games on flamenco in schools of Early Childhood Education.
