Currently, schools and museums share several educational goals and objectives. In relation to this, research groups play a fundamental role in improving both the quality of teaching and the relationship between schools, young people, and museums. For this reason, research and dissemination of results and experiences are key. With the aim of knowing what is currently being researched on students and teachers’ attitudes and perceptions around museum education, we developed a literature review of related scientific publications in the Web of Science between 2018 and 2023. Through a mixed method, scientific mapping, and an in-depth review of the sample, we can concretize the lines, methodologies, and main results of the selected studies. Results shed light on the need to implement educational methodologies that incorporate exhibitions and visits to museums, as they increase and improve the valuation and perceptions around various dimensions, such as their own abilities, attitudes towards art and museums, and better and greater learning in various subjects. The research carried out points to the interest and need to continue working along these lines, applying new teaching methods, and integrating learning from different disciplines, both at school and in higher education.
