Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.-
Cover letter signed by all authors which mentions:
- Declaration of originality. Authors must provide references to similar contributions which have already been published, or which are currently under consideration by another journal, including published tables, illustrations or abstracts. Original work simultaneously presented to other journals will not be accepted.
- Ownership and assignment of rights. Authors will grant non-exclusive exploitation rights (reproduction, distribution, public communication and transformation) of the work to SIPS, as publisher of the journal.
- Also, authors will grant exploitation rights of the published material, even though they are authorized to freely distribute the published version (self-archiving) on open access institutional or thematic repositories.
- The file is sent in .doc, .docx or .rtf format, and information about authors has been removed.

Authors are identified in the metadata (authors' names, academic and/or institutional affiliations, and email addresses, as well as the title, abstract, and keywords in both languages (Spanish, English, and Portuguese).
- The title, abstract (max. 300 words) and keywords are in Spanish, Portuguese or English
- The text has 1.5 cm line spacing and 3 cm margins; the font size is 12 point, Times New Roman; the text has no breaks or page breaks; and all illustrations, figures, and tables are in a separate file and referenced in the text.
- The text meets the bibliographic and style requirements indicated in the Guidelines for Authors
- If you are submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, you must ensure that you have removed any reference to authorship from the manuscript, including the document properties (metadata).
- If your article has been accepted, you must send a translation
- A short biography of about 5 or 8 lines is completed in the authors section (on the platform).
- It declares that the signing authors actively participated in the preparation of the article. This means that there is no undeserved or incomplete authorship, nor any dispute over authorship.
- Declares that all data presented in the article are not false nor have they been manipulated.

Pagiarism detection
Pedagogía Social. Revista Interuniversitaria prohibits plagiarism of any article submitted for publication; carrying out an exhaustive review of the originals sent to the journal and an anti-plagiarism control of their contents, which are subjected to review using the plagiarism detection software: Turniting.
If any form of plagiarism is detected, the journal will contact the authors of the work requesting explanations, and if these are not satisfactory, the article will be rejected.
In addition, a declaration from the authors will be required in which they ensure that it is an original contribution and that it has not been previously published, nor has it been submitted for evaluation in another journal.
Copyright and right to archive
The published version of the articles can be self-archived by their authors in open access institutional and thematic repositories. However, Pedagogía Social. Revista Interuniversitaria must authorize partial or global reutilisation on new papers or publications.
Published papers must be cited including the title of the journal Pedagogía Social. Revista Interuniversitaria, issue, pages and year of publication
Ethical responsibilities
Pedagogía Social. Revista Interuniversitaria does not accept any material that has been previously published in other documents or publications. Authors are responsible for obtaining the required permissions for partial or global reproduction any material from other publications, and to correctly quote its origin.
Pedagogía Social. Revista Interuniversitaria is obliged to detect and report fraudulent practices.
Only those who have intellectually contribute to the development of the paper must appear as authors.
The journal expects authors to declare any commercial partnership that might entail a conflict of interest with respect to the submitted article.
Authors must mention in the article, preferably in the “methodology” section, that the procedures used during the samplings and controls have been made after getting informed consent.
The journal will not use any received contribution in a way other than the goals described in these guidelines.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use Policy
- Author Use of AI
Pedagogía Social. Revista Interuniversitaria recognizes the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in academia and establishes the following standards for their ethical and responsible use by authors.
What is permitted?
- Use of AI tools for linguistic or formal purposes, such as grammar checkers, style adjustments, or readability improvements, provided that: 1) no new substantive content is generated; 2) they are used solely to improve the writing or presentation of the text; and 3) responsibility for the final text rests with the human authors.
In these cases, this use does not need to be declared.
- Use of AI to support the writing process, provided that: 1) it is limited to auxiliary tasks, such as structure suggestions, initial drafting of summaries, or style improvements; 2) is explicitly stated in the "Funding or Acknowledgments" section; 3) includes information about the tool used, its specific function, and the final control exercised by the authors.

What is not allowed?
- Including AI tools as authors of the manuscript. Scientific authorship requires intellectual and legal responsibility that cannot be assumed by automated systems.
- Delegating to AI tools the autonomous generation of original academic content, such as: 1) writing entire sections of the manuscript; 2) developing theoretical frameworks, analyzing results, or discussing them; 3) interpreting data or drawing conclusions.
- Using AI in a way that compromises the integrity of the work, such as: 1) introducing false, fabricated, or unverifiable information; 2) manipulating sources or references; 3) plagiarizing AI-generated texts without attribution or review.
- Failing to declare the use of AI when it has been used for substantive tasks, which will be considered poor editorial practice.
Responsible Use of AI Tools by Reviewers
In line with good editorial practices and a commitment to scientific integrity, Pedagogía Social. Revista Interuniversitaria establishes the following guidelines on the use of Artificial Intelligence tools by those participating in the peer review process.
The use of AI tools by reviewers is permitted only if it does not compromise the confidentiality of the manuscript or violate the intellectual property rights of its authors.
What is permitted?
- The use of locally installed or privacy-protected AI tools for support tasks, such as language or style suggestions.
- The use of AI to organize or structure the evaluation report, provided that the critical judgment contributions are prepared directly by the reviewer.
What is not permitted?
- Copying and pasting all or part of the manuscript into generative AI platforms (such as ChatGPT, Google Bard, Grammarly, etc.) that operate in the cloud and do not guarantee confidentiality of data.
- Delegating evaluative judgment or critical argumentation to automated tools, which violates the principle of expert peer review.
- Sharing or storing manuscript content on external services that may retain, use, or reproduce such information.
Ethical Commitment in Review
Peer review is a confidential process based on professional responsibility and respect for the authors' original work. Therefore, the use of technological tools must comply with ethical criteria and in no case replace the evaluative role of specialists in the field.
Pedagogía Social. Revista Interuniversitaria may request reviewers to declare, if necessary, the use of AI tools in their reports, in order to ensure the transparency of the editorial process.
Privacy Statement
In accordance with the provisions of Article 5 from Organic Law 15/1999, dated 13th December, concerning the Protection of Personal Data, we wish to inform you that personal information provided to the journals to which FECYT provides access is included in a file belonging to the journal “Pedagogía Social. Revista Interuniversitaria”. It is possible to check each journal’s purpose in the section “about/contact”.
We also inform you that FECYT acts as data processor for each of the files owned by the journals. Thereof, FECYT facilitates the exercise of your rights of access, rectification, cancellation and opposition, according to the terms described in Spanish Law on the Protection of Personal Data, by contacting the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology headquarters located at C/ Pintor Velázquez nº 5 - Edificio Museo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología, 28100 Alcobendas (Madrid).
