Abstract

This article aims to clarify the terminology that railway companies used in their commercial relations with customers. The research has used archival sources and documentary collections, both Spanish and foreign, with the intention of providing the most complete vision possible. These terms have been used without understanding the meaning of each procedure, leading to errors that may compromise the results achieved. This misuse, sometimes favored by the same companies, is understandable because of the variety and complexity of these procedures, a consequence of the evolution of the Spanish economy.
