Abstract

Every day spent researching European and Spanish housing confirms that what truly matters is not the housing itself. From private greenhouses to residences built atop port silos, housing can no longer be approached as an isolated object or simplified in terms of ownership versus renting. No more sealed-off homes. No more architecture that answers to no one. We need solutions that LOOK THE OTHER WAY. Architectural, political, and economic solutions. The ones that matter to architects: those involving strategies and intentions, and ultimately, those that find ways to optimize or increase available funding. And if this new approach is right, then we are dealing with something serious and important.
