Abstract

From a legal point of view, the transition from an extensive urbanism to a sustainable one is analyzed, a change that, according to the Spanish Land Law, is easily seen after the approval of the 2007 Land Law. The configuration process of the regulations from 2007 to 2015 is analyzed. In this process, we pay special attention to the land reserves and housing with official protection, so we cannot contemplate a sustainable urbanism without easy access to decent, adequate and affordable housing for everyone. At the end of the analysis, we put forward some proposals so that access to housing is effective, emphasizing the need for better control of urban development, as well as improving the performance of administrations.
