Abstract

This paper applies the last dynamics of capitalism, the flexible accumulation as are
described by David Harvey, Edward Soja or Saskia Sassen to the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area.
The main purpose is to verify if such dynamics derived from an analysis carried out in New York, Los
Angeles or London operate in second and third order cities as Guadalajara. In so doing, the paper
analyzes the main indicators related to sociodemographic variables, occupations and economic
activities, as they are spatially displayed.
