Abstract

For the author the above-mentioned plan irons out and yet digests the various contradictions which were shown up both in Silvestre Perez's Puerto de la Paz and A. Lazaro's plan that were its forebears, said contradictions having to do with the relation-between the new and the old city as it then stood and with the twin problems of room and space. The author holds the formal result to be a masterpiece in the way it reconciles a whole cluster of limitations. Its strengths are said top reside in its articulating of available ground and the dimensions it imposes upon this, an aspect that makes it one of the most thought provoking projects of the period.
