Abstract

The precise use of words and the search for their meaning are two ideas that laid the groundwork for some of Cartagena’s works. Sometimes he also inquired into the etymology to justify his arguments. The influence of the work of Saint Isidore and the thought of Aristotle, as well as his profound theological knowledge, are at the basis of many of his disquisitions.
