Abstract

The study of epigraphical manuscripts of the XVth and XVIth centuries allows us to understand better the textual transmission of the Epigraphy in the Humanistic period. This article reconstructs the process of confusion of four numismatic legends for epigraphical texts, for which they entered the falsae vel alienae section of CIL II. This episode gives us some important clues for a future reconstruction of the lost archetype of the late XVth century named by Hübner Antiquus Hispanus.
