About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Since its inception, the principal aim of the REVISTA DE ESTUDIOS LATINOS has been to bring together particularly original and unpublished contributions to research in any area of Latin and Roman Studies (linguistics, literature, culture and history, classical tradition, philological techniques, etc.) and related disciplines, focusing on all periods of the Latin language and Roman history. The journal also includes critical reviews that are not solely descriptive on recent contributions in the field.

The RELat has an international presence within the fields of Latin and Roman Studies thanks to its collaborations with scholars from abroad in all issues of the journal and its growing presence in international data bases.

Peer Review Process

Manuscripts submitted for publication will be assessed through an anonymous double revision process, according to the guidelines laid out by the European Peer Review Guide (European Science Foundation, ESF, 2011).

Manuscripts will be assessed by two confidential assessment reports by external experts as a prerequisite for their possible admission to the journal. The Editorial Board will also examine the proposals and let authors know whether their work has been accepted or not, providing reasons for their decision, based on the assessment reports. Decisions will be made known within six months of receipt of the manuscript.
