Abstract

César Lorenzo Rubio reflects on the need to remember the people who fought against the abuses of the system even when its condition of guarantor of fundamental rights was stressed with the occasion of the anniversary of the revolts of the COPEL (Coordinator of Prisoners in Struggle) and the presentation of the documentary that narrates its origin, its demands and its extinction by the hand of its protagonists. It was time, says Rubio, to make room in the recent history of this country to those who rebelled and organized to demand the reform of the penal and penitentiary system, and with this, to remember that there is still violations of fundamental rights within prisons.
