The Revista Interuniversitaria de Formación del Profesorado (RIFOP) seeks to attain scientific excellence and as such it adheres to the ethical code of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), and the principles of transparency and good practice of the Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association (OASPA).

Authors’ responsibility

Originality and plagiarism. Authors who submit papers to the RIFOP journal must conform that the paper presented is original and recognize and cite any content reproduced from other sources, exactly as it appeared therein. Likewise, the submission should not be under consideration or have been accepted for publication in any other journal ir other means of dissemination. In the case of overlaps with other published papers, the authors are required to provide the editor with a copy of the same in order to esteem the degree of overlap.

Bibliography and list of sources. Authors should always provide correct indications of the bibliographical and other types of sources used, as well as any other contribution mentioned in the paper.

Sources of funding. Authors should indicate if the paper presented is the result of public or private funding and correctly identify the source or sources.

Authorship and responsibility. Authors will accept responsibility for what they have written and should confirm that all the data published in their papers are real and authentic. Likewise, authors are require to justify that their paper represents a significant contribution to the research.

 Access to data. Authors submitting papers to the RIFOP are required to keep a precise record of the data related to their original paper. These data should be available to the editor if there are reasonable grounds for requesting them.

Research, experimenting and ethical responsibility. In the case of empirical studies that involve participation by people (teachers, students, parents, etc.), authors submitting papers must guarantee that the participants had given express permission to take part and for the results of the study to be made public as well as guaranteeing the privacy pf the participants.

Conflicts of interests. Authors must declare any conflict of interests that might at any time of the publication process suppose undue effects.

Errors detected in papers. In the case of errors being detected in submitted papers, the authors should immediately notify the editor of these and should cooperate with the editor in producing an erratum, addenda, an error correction advice, or in the withdrawal of the paper if deemed necessary.

Responsibility of the editor 

Qualified reviewal. The editor of the RIFOP will ensure the selection of highly qualified and specialist reviewers to issue a critical and expert appreciation of the paper and in an unbiased way as possible.

Objectivity and non discrimination. The editor of RIFOP shall act in a balanced, objective and fair manner in the exercising of his or her expected functions, with no discrimination for reasons of the sex, sexual orientation, religious or political beliefs, ethnic or geographical origin of the authors.

Equality on evaluation by sections. The editor of the RIFOP shall handle the proposed papers accepted by the Editorial Committee for the monographs in the same was as those submitted to the open section. Papers will be considered and accepted solely on the basis of their academic value and with no commercial considerations.

Procedure in the case of problems of an ethical nature. The editor of the RIFOP will adopt reasonable procedures in the case of complaints of an ethical nature or conflict of interests. Authors will be given a reasonable opportunity to respond to any complaints received about their paper. All complaints will be investigated regardless of the date of publication of the original. All documents relating to such complaints will be conserved.

Confidentiality. The editor undertakes not to disseminate information relating to the papers submitted to anyone other than the authors, reviewers and editors. The editor and the Editorial Committee undertake to maintain the confidentiality of the papers, the authors and the reviewers in such a way that the intellectual integrity of the entire process is anonymously upheld.

Responsibilities of the reviewers

Decision taking and quality. The reviewers of the RIFOP must contribute to the decision-making process and assist in enhancing the quality of published papers through an objective, balanced and fair reviewal of the same.

Confidentiality. The reviewers must respect the confidentiality of any and all information provided by the editor or the authors.

 Comunication of plagiarism. The reviewers of the RIFOP are required to alert the editor of any published or submitted content that is substantially similar to the paper under review. 

Conflict of interests. The reviewers should detect any possible conflict of interests (financial, institutional, collaborative or any other type of relation between the reviewer and the author) and inform the editor of such issues in case it should be necessary that their collaboration in the review be withdrawn.
