Abstract

The article aimes to demonstrate the need to provide adequate and effective remedies in administrative courts to protect interests in public goods, sometimes referred to as those in the public interest. These collective interests demand central attention in modern Administrative Law. The basis of these remedies is analyzed within the context of the Spanish Constitution, International and European Law, and with brief attention to the law of other countries. Then remedies for collective interests are examined in the Judicial Administrative Court Act and attention is drawn to the fact that they are being largely ignored. Proposals are offered to counter this situation, including with reference to reforms in the Act to provide remedies for collective interests.
