The Spanish Urban Agenda: towards a healthier city
Keywords:
Spanish Urban Agenda, Town planning, Health, Urban PlanningAbstract
This work analyzes to what extent the Spanish Urban Agenda considers health as one of the critical elements that have guided its writing. In order to do so, this document is studied considering three of the elements that - as will be justified in due course- are understood to be necessary to achieve healthier cities. Thus, first of all, it explores if a change towards a city of proximity is proposed. For which it will be necessary to address densities, complexity and physical continuity of the built environment. The second element is related to the introduction of nature in the city surpassing the concept of public open spaces and facilities and introducing the idea of green infrastructure. Last, but not least, the third one refers to the creation of spaces for coexistence.Downloads
