The Agrarian Park: Strategic planning for the preservation and management of metropolitan agricultural spaces

Abstract

The Agrarian Park is being consolidated in recent years as a key tool for the protection and management of periurban agricultural spaces from a systemic, multifunctional and strategic perspective. Given the great diversity of theoretical approaches and practices, this text aims to address a critical review of it and investigate their strengths for implementation in metropolitan environments, for which recent scientific contributions are analyzed and empirical results are collected of the case study of the Agrarian Park of Fuenlabrada located in the metropolitan region of Madrid.
