Abstract

The building of housing, one of Spain’s key economic activities also offers what is possibly the
country’s oldest and most complete economic date time series. Starting in 1960, all building permits
data issued by the Professional Architects Association has been collected; it is the only viable source
for information on the evolution of the construction industry. The publishing of the 2009 yearbook
marks 50 years of such data’s being collected Thus to celebrate this milestone, this paper describes
the time series data of housing construction in Spain and then break this down in terms of the country’s
different provinces and autonomous regions to thus offer a comparative view of the matter.

With the aim of promoting the dissemination of knowledge, CyTET joins the Open Journal Access (OA) movement and delivers all of its content to various national and international indexes, repositories and databases under this protocol; therefore, the submission of a work to be published in the journal presupposes the explicit acceptance by the author of this distribution method.

Authors are encouraged to reproduce and host their work published in CyTET in institutional repositories, web pages, etc. with the intention of contributing to the improvement of the transfer of knowledge and the citation of said works.
