Abstract

In an uncertain context as today, urban planning requires a wider toolbox to achieve resilience. Adaptive planning based on scenarios offers potential for framing discussions on strategies for recovering, adapting, and transforming in the face of changing complex context. This research focusses on the co-creation of scenarios in the spatial context of an insular municipality highly dependent on tourism (San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Gran Canaria) through interviews and a workshop. The resulting scenarios, increasingly disruptive, allowed reflections on the potential of such tools to support a resilient integration of land use and transport strategies that widens the scope of possibilities in urban spaces.
