book reviewAbstract
Josep Picó, professor of sociology at UV, has just published the latest of his memoirs, in which he recounts his experiences in cities that have been epicenters of European cultural activity: Rome, Cambridge, and Paris. He also recounts his experiences in his intellectual training and career. These are unique memoirs because they do not attempt to (re)construct an intellectual autobiography but rather moments of life in the cities he inhabits and in the academic institutions where he participates, observing what is happening and seeking to draw attention to them. In this respect, they are of enormous interest to the academic world, but also to anyone attracted by the culture and history that has taken place in these cities and the countries to which they belong.
