Sobreeducación y preferencias políticas: efectos del desajuste entre educación y empleo sobre el posicionamiento ideológico, el radicalismo y el voto a izquierda y derecha

Resumen

El artículo estudia la relación entre experiencia de sobreeducación y preferencias políticas en España, un país caracterizado por una alta tasa de sobreeducación. Usando datos de dos encuestas postelectorales, estimamos Modelos de Referencia Diagonal para contrastar hipótesis acerca de los efectos del desajuste entre educación y empleo sobre el posicionamiento ideológico, el radicalismo y el voto a izquierda y derecha. Encontramos indicios de que la sobreeducación está asociada a posicionamiento más a la izquierda y a mayor probabilidad de votar a partidos de izquierda. Los efectos son modestos y están moderados por la edad: solo se encuentran para los trabajadores más jóvenes. Esto podría ser debido a razones contextuales (en España, el discurso público sobre la sobreeducación la ha presentado como un problema de los jóvenes) o a factores estructurales (la inconsistencia de estatus solo es políticamente relevante en la medida en que el grado de cristalización estructural de las posiciones de estatus es bajo).
