Abstract

This reflection addresses the social organization of care in light of the COVID-19 crisis. The arguments presented here are based on existing literature and on my own field work, with the dual objective of
outlining an analysis of this crisis and addressing questions that open research axes in this new scenario.

Paloma Moré Corral, Universidade da Coruña

Paloma Moré Corral es Profesora Contratada Interina de Substitución en la Facultade de Socioloxía de la Universidade da Coruña. Anteriormente ha sido investigadora postdoctoral en la Universidad Aix-Marseille (Francia) en el Laboratorio de Estudios de Excelencia sobre la región Mediterránea (LABEXMED). Se doctoró con Mención Europea en Migraciones Internacionales e Integración Social (2015), en el Instituto Universitario de Investigación Ortega y Gasset y la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Su tesis doctoral ha sido publicada en 2017 por el Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas con el título “Migraciones y cuidados a personas mayores en las grandes ciudades”. Su área de investigación integra la sociología de las migraciones internacionales con la sociología del trabajo desde una perspectiva de género. Sus principales líneas de investigación son el trabajo doméstico y de cuidados, la ética del cuidado, las trayectorias laborales y vitales de las mujeres migrantes y las políticas de cuidado en perspectiva comparada.
