Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.

The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word document file format.
NOTICE: To write the text it is essential to use the Geogaceta template file, available at: Template_English_Manuscript - For the text, figures and structure of the paper we have followed the Instructions for authors - rules.
- A list of five possible reviewers of the paper has been prepared, with their e-mail addres, institutional affiliation and a brief justification of the choice.
- The paper may be presented by one of the authors in the next Scientific Session of the Geological Society of Spain.
- In the submitted paper, at least one author is a member of the SGE and has not signed more than three papers to be presented in the same Scientific Session (Non-members can only sign one paper).
Copyright Notice
Until the year 2023 the author assigned the copyright to the Sociedad Geológica de España, but from 2024 the author retains the copyright and grants the Sociedad Geológica de España the right of first publication and non-exclusive distribution of each article in all current or future media, while transferring, also non-exclusively, the commercial rights for the distribution of the printed version of Geogaceta. On the other hand, the articles, from the year 2023, are available simultaneously with their publication, under the Creative Commons CC BY-NC-SA 4. 0, which allows copying, transforming the work, but if any transformation is distributed, the new work must be distributed under the same license, and never for commercial purposes, while acknowledging the authorship and original publication in GEOGACETA, as described in:

- The layout rights of the article belong to the Geological Society of Spain.
- GEOGACETA is published in electronic and printed format.
- The Author has the right to publish his/her work online (self-archiving), once it has been published on the GEOGACETA website of the Geological Society of Spain.
- The Author confirms to the Geological Society of Spain that the work:
- Is his/her own original work.
- It has not been submitted or published in any medium, nor has it been submitted to any other journal for publication (whether in print, electronic or any other format).
- The Author guarantees to the Geological Society of Spain that:
- All co-authors are informed of the publication of the work under the Creative Commons CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. license, allowing others to share the work equally, without commercial purposes, while acknowledging authorship and original publication in GEOGACETA.
- You have ALL necessary rights and permissions (for electronic and print use) for any parts used in the work from other copyrighted publications (such as a figure).
- All persons signing this work authorize the publication of their contact e-mail address in the article, as well as on the journal's website.
- For any subsequent publication of their work, the Author agrees to mention the bibliographic reference of the first publication in GEOGACETA
- Obligations of the Geological Society of Spain (SGE):
- Undertakes to publish the article in GEOGACETA within 7-8 months from the date of presentation of the paper, by the Author, at a Scientific Session.
- The SGE undertakes to provide the Author with the final version of the work accepted for publication, once it has been published on the web, so that it can be deposited in an institutional repository or any other website.
- The Author acknowledges that the Sociedad Geológica de España may withdraw the work from GEOGACETA after publication, if the results are subsequently found to be unreliable, either due to misconduct or error, or if plagiarism is detected.
Privacy Statement
The responsible for the processing of personal data provided to Geogaceta is the journal itself. The names and e-mail addresses entered in this journal will be used exclusively for the purposes established in it and will not be provided to third parties or for use for other purposes.
On the other hand, FECYT acts as the Data Processor for each of the files owned by the different journals. Therefore, FECYT, facilitates the exercise of their rights of access, rectification, deletion, limitation of processing, data portability, opposition and not to be subject to automated individual decisions, including profiling by contacting the headquarters of the FECYT, located in C / Pintor Murillo 15, 28100 Alcobendas (Madrid, ES), or by requesting it by email to the address protecciondatos@fecyt.es, accompanied by proof of identity.
