Abstract

The book Ecología e igualdad, by Ernest García, which articulates the intellectual history of ecologism with sociological theory, is a milestone in ecologist thought written in Spanish. Based on the reading of this work and a synthesis of both its methodology and its main findings, Ernest García's proposal is used to address the need for an ecologist theory of the State in the framework of the epoch imposed by the ecological transition. This task is approached along the lines of the polemics that Ecología e igualdad establishes both with collapsist ecologism and with the perspectives of technological solutionism
