Abstract

From Encrucijadas we have understood it essential to dedicate a monographic number to issues related to delinquency, but also to the constitution of groups, with morality and its expression, with the forms of exercising authority and power and with a system that tends to protect the dominant groups more, thus contributing, and not only guaranteeing, to social domination. These are areas related to punishment, control, institutions and penal policies, as well as the representations that accompany them. In order to deal with these questions and try to achieve a well-founded reflection on a subject that transcends the circumstantial, we consider it interesting to approach them from the social sciences and, specifically, from sociology.
