Abstract

This article analyzes and tracks back the reception in Spain of Otto Neurath by two thinkers: Manuel Sacristán and his disciple Francisco Fernández Buey. Both authors sought a balance between a solidly grounded epistemology and a socio-political commitment of Marxist nature. This kind of balance is a very exceptional phenomenon, not only in the Hispanic philosophical tradition, but even in the international Marxist tradition, and explains its interest in Neurath's theses. However, this influence is not clear, and requires an almost archaeological reconstruction, which is done in this article.
