Can a movement be translated? Notes on the limits of the institutional cycle

The political cycle that began with the 15M movement has been characterised by the relevance of translation, understood as a linguistic and a cultural practice, but also a metaphor for political praxis. This texts briefly analyses a set of uses of the concept of ‘translation’ within the discourse mobilised by several members of the political party Podemos and argues that these uses are revealing of both innovations and important limits for the party’s political project.References
