Abstract

The present critique focuses on discovering the analytical keys of the last collective work co-ordinated by Enrique Martín Criado and Carlos Prieto, whose title is “Struggles for time. Power, Wage Relationships and Gender Relations” edited by the Centre of Sociological Research (Madrid) in 2015. This work tackles how the intensive control of time at work has given rise to the intensification of labour precariousness and the sharpening of sophisticated ways of domination in the name of flexibility. Those main thesis are based on case studies, which deepen in the experiences of collectives that are vulnerable to the requirements of an absolute availability of time, while their narrative experiences are contrasted with rigorous data which show the reality in all its harshness.
