Abstract

This article explores the ideological discourse and political activity of radical-socialist republicans during the short life of that party, between 1929 and 1933. Special attention is paid to the analysis of their attitude toward political violence and exclusionary discourses that made by prevent the consolidation of the republican democracy. It also addresses a hitherto unexplored aspect: the analysis of the degree of involvement of radical-socialists in exclusionary behaviour and their activity and discourse in election campaigns in 1931 and 1933. We conclude that, unlike other political groups, the radical-socialists did not give, with some exceptions, the step that led from the radical discourse to violence; but were observed behaviour of exclusion and ambiguities in its concept of democracy that are also exposed and contextualize.
