International Organizations and Evidence-based Education Policy: Their evident relation
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper tries to demonstrate the close connection between international organizations and evidence-based educational policy. To do this, it begins by showing the impact of the proposals of International Organizations in the field of education on educational systems through one example: lifelong learning. Subsequently, it describes how three International Organizations (UNESCO and OECD in a global perspective and the European Union in a regional perspective) have been glossing over the last decades a discourse in favor of evidence-based educational policies. Finally, and the own analysis of supranational education is applied, the three visions of these international organizations are contrasted trying to align the common thread that runs through them. Finally, the conclusions of the article present a critical reflection on the educational policy based on evidence as it is presented from some of these supranational visions.
