The objective of this work is to identify some relevant problems that we have in the initial training of teachers (FIM) in the field of Science teaching and reflect on them. Internal variables of future teachers are defined (knowledge, experiences, characteristics) and external factors are pointed out (curriculum, study plans, social considerations); all of them, from our perspective, affect the professional work carried out by teachers at this educational stage. Some of the contributions made in research and innovation collected in the most relevant journals in the area of Didactics of Experimental Sciences (DCE), since the approval of the Primary Education Degree, are analyzed. Based on these contributions, we identified five problems in the FIM: scientific knowledge, didactic knowledge, professional experience, personal characteristics and educational beliefs. In each problem, specific actions are described and proposed that we believe should be present in the face of the announced curricular change.
