Abstract

This research aims to review the major milestones in the legal and administrative strategy of integrated zone coastal management in the United States of America, connecting the content with core issues of Spanish law in this topic. For this purpose, we analyze the legal and institutional aspects of the USA regulatory system, taking into account, from an environmental perspective and comparative law, rules, techniques and instruments of intergovernmental cooperation aimed at improving the protection and conservation of coastal natural resources, and in particular, the legal status of inland waters and coastlines.
