Some notes on the uses of Catalán landscape by early Francoism

Abstract

The objective of this paper is to go deep into nationalism ideology in the first years of Francoist Regim. The view of an organic Catalonia has been cultivated by catalán nationalism since the last years of 20th century until 1939. This mental picture must be reconsidered in terms of Spanish Nation during the 1940's and after. Focused on landscape, this article aims to show how this cultural valué carries on a spatial metaphor and it also shuttles through temporal processes of history and memory.
