Abstract

The article shows the communication channels established between prominent Spaniards in exile for the dissemination of pro-Europeanism, anti-Franco activism in the Congress for Cultural Freedom and the forging of a democratic opposition in Spain. The confluence of these vectors led to the what the Falangist press called the «Munich conspiracy» (the meeting of dissidents in 1962 at such a congress). The article also recounts how the consequences of the congress reactivated the links between the intellectuals in exile and in Spain. This relationship was based on shared pro-Europeanism.
