Abstract

The paper warns of how environmental problems have undergone an alarming upturn and how the tardiness in finding any remedy for them has resulted in public alarm in the wake of storm flooding, problems of solids waste handling and the spatial consequences of the dumping of these last, the damage to public health caused by air pollution and water contamination.
