The Proposal for a European Regulation on parenthood: main challenges
Main Article Content
Abstract
The paper argues that the main challenges facing the negotiation of the Proposal for a European Regulation on parenthood are related to a deficient understanding of the subject. The issues addressed are the absence of a European consensus regarding the use of heterologous assisted reproduction techniques with the use of third party’ gametes and reproductive tourism, the difficulty to differentiate between intra and extra-community cases and the complexity of an analysis from the perspective of fundamental rights.
