Tensions and ambivalences in the meanings regarding the government of time in entrepreneurship: between agency and subjection

This article focuses on the meanings given to the government of time throughout the narratives of young women entrepreneurs. The study of this topic enables to delve into the reorganisation of time currently taking place through the promotion of a new archetype of labour subject: the entrepreneur. Also, it allows to analyse the (dis)continuities and ambivalences in the situated production of meaning related to the promise of agency and capacity for self-organisation of the hegemonic entrepreneurial discourse. For this research, 30 semi-structured interviews were carried out. The analysis follows an approach rooted in critical discourse analysis and connected to governmentality studies and feminist theory. This approach allows to address the power relationships and inequalities, but also the meanings given to experiences and vulnerabilities, that emerge through the narratives on the government of time in entrepreneurship.
