Relación de los niveles de actividad física con el género y el perfil de riesgo cardiovascular en adolescentes granadinos. Implicaciones didácticas para la Educación Física

Resumen

Diversos estudios constatan que el nivel de práctica de actividad física está directamente asociado al nivel de condición física de los adolescentes, siendo ambas variables esenciales para el
reconocimiento del estado de salud de dicha población. El objetivo del presente estudio, se centró en determinar los actuales niveles existentes en adolescentes granadinos y en comprobar la
posible asociación con perfiles de riesgo cardiovascular (saludable y no saludable). Método. Una muestra de 345 adolescentes (190 varones y 155 mujeres), de 13 a 16 años de edad, participaron
en el mismo. La actividad física se estimó mediante medida objetiva (acelerómetro GT3X) y la capacidad cardiorrespiratoria mediante Batería ALPHA-Fitness de alta prioridad (Course Navette).
Resultados. De la muestra inicial solo aquellos participantes que cumplieron con los criterios mínimos de registro de actividad física fueron seleccionados para el presente estudio (n = 227).
Los resultados de la prueba chi cuadrado 2 (género) x 2 (actividad física) mostraron que había una cantidad significativamente mayor de varones con niveles de actividad física recomendados que
de mujeres (χ12= 36,145; p < 0,001; V de Cramer = 0,399). Los resultados de la prueba chi cuadrado 2 (riesgo cardiovascular) x 2 (actividad física) mostraron que había una cantidad significativamente mayor de adolescentes con un perfil cardiovascular
saludable que realizan actividad física recomendada y viceversa (χ12= 17,768; p < 0,001; V de Cramer = 0,284). Conclusiones. Un elevado porcentaje de adolescentes no cumplieron las
recomendaciones establecidas. La variable género modificó significativamente el cumplimiento de recomendaciones de práctica, siendo ellos más cumplidores que ellas. Se verificó que el
cumplimiento o no de las recomendaciones de práctica presentaba una asociación directa con perfiles de riesgo cardiovascular saludable o no saludable. En este sentido, aquellos adolescentes cumplidores de las recomendaciones de actividad física, se situaban dentro de un perfil
cardiovascular saludable y los no cumplidores, en un perfil cardiovascular no saludable.
