Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The manuscript conforms to the stylistic (text, figures and tables) and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Publication Guidelines for Authors, using the RSGE template.
- The submission has not been previously published or submitted for consideration by any other journal.
- A list of five possible reviewers has been included in the template, with their full name, email address and institution to which they belong.
Copyright Notice
- The Author retains the copyright and grants to the Geological Society of Spain the right of first publication and distribution of this article for the duration of the literary property under Spanish law, in all current or future media, being the work available simultaneously to its publication under the Creative Commons CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license, which allows copying and transforming the work, but taking into account that the distribution of the transformed work must be under the same license and never for commercial purposes, while acknowledging authorship and original publication in the Revista de la Sociedad Geológica de España.
- The layout rights of the article belong to the Geological Society of Spain.
- The Revista de la Sociedad Geológica de España is published in electronic and printed format.
- The Author has the right to publish his/her work online (self-archiving), once it has been published on the Revista de la Sociedad Geológica de España website.
- The Author confirms to the Geological Society of Spain that the work:
- Is his/her own original work.
- It has not been submitted or published in any medium, nor has it been submitted to any other journal for publication (whether in print, electronic or any other format).
- The Author guarantees to the Geological Society of Spain that:
- All co-authors are informed of the publication of the work under the Creative Commons CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license, allowing others to share the work equally, without commercial purposes, while acknowledging authorship and original publication in the Revista de la Sociedad Geológica de España.
- You have ALL necessary rights and permissions (for electronic and print use) for any parts used in the work from other copyrighted publications (such as a figure).
- All persons signing this work authorize the publication of their contact e-mail address in the article, as well as on the journal's website.
- For any subsequent publication of their work, the Author agrees to mention the bibliographic reference of the first publication in the Revista de la Sociedad Geológica de España.
- The Geological Society of Spain undertakes to provide the Author with the final version of the manuscript accepted for publication, once it has been published on the web, so that it can be deposited in an institutional repository or any other website.
- The Author acknowledges that the Geological Society of Spain may withdraw the work from the Revista de la Sociedad Geológica de España after publication, if the results are subsequently found to be unreliable, either due to misconduct or error, or if plagiarism is detected.

The Journal of the Geological Society of Spain is responsible for the processing of personal data provided to the journal. The names and e-mail addresses entered in this journal will be used exclusively for the purposes established therein and will not be provided to third parties or used for other purposes.
On the other hand, FECYT acts as the Data Processor for each of the files owned by the different journals.
