Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The manuscript conforms to the stylistic (text, figures and tables) and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Publication Guidelines for Authors, using the RSGE template.
  • The submission has not been previously published or submitted for consideration by any other journal.
  • A list of five possible reviewers has been included in the template, with their full name, email address and institution to which they belong.

Author Guidelines

It is essential to check that the manuscript conforms to the RSGE template (download from the right sidebar in this web) and that five potential reviewers have been included.

The main text of the manuscript, figures and tables will be sent in individual files, so it will be necessary to prepare them following the GUIDE FOR AUTHORS (download PDF from the right sidebar in this web) of the Journal of the Geological Society of Spain.

MANUSCRIPTS SUBMISSION

The submission of all papers should be done through the link "Make a new submission", located at the top of this page. You can follow the detailed steps in the following guide: Instructions for article submission (download PDF from the right sidebar in this web).

REGISTRATION. To submit a new manuscript, the corresponding author must register in the RECYT management platform, if he/she is not already registered. Once registered, you can enter the platform, where you must complete all the requested data, including metadata, before finalizing the submission of the manuscript. Failure to do so properly may result in the paper being rejected by the Editors for resubmission so that all data can be filled in correctly. In addition, you must upload the following files:

- A file in Word format (text editor) with the main text of the manuscript following the RSGE template (download from the side bar of the website). It is IMPORTANT to fill in all the data on the first page of the template, including a list of five possible persons to review the work (full name, email address and institution to which they belong), for the correct management of the work. When justified, opposed reviewers can be named.

- A separate file for each figure or table, numbered consecutively.

Copyright Notice

- The Author retains the copyright and grants to the Geological Society of Spain the right of first publication and distribution of this article for the duration of the literary property under Spanish law, in all current or future media, being the work available simultaneously to its publication under the Creative Commons CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license, which allows copying and transforming the work, but taking into account that the distribution of the transformed work must be under the same license and never for commercial purposes, while acknowledging authorship and original publication in the Revista de la Sociedad Geológica de España.

- The layout rights of the article belong to the Geological Society of Spain.

- The Revista de la Sociedad Geológica de España is published in electronic and printed format.

- The Author has the right to publish his/her work online (self-archiving), once it has been published on the Revista de la Sociedad Geológica de España website.

- The Author confirms to the Geological Society of Spain that the work:

  • Is his/her own original work.
  • It has not been submitted or published in any medium, nor has it been submitted to any other journal for publication (whether in print, electronic or any other format).

- The Author guarantees to the Geological Society of Spain that:

  • All co-authors are informed of the publication of the work under the Creative Commons CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license, allowing others to share the work equally, without commercial purposes, while acknowledging authorship and original publication in the Revista de la Sociedad Geológica de España.
  • You have ALL necessary rights and permissions (for electronic and print use) for any parts used in the work from other copyrighted publications (such as a figure).
  • All persons signing this work authorize the publication of their contact e-mail address in the article, as well as on the journal's website.
  • For any subsequent publication of their work, the Author agrees to mention the bibliographic reference of the first publication in the Revista de la Sociedad Geológica de España.

- The Geological Society of Spain undertakes to provide the Author with the final version of the manuscript accepted for publication, once it has been published on the web, so that it can be deposited in an institutional repository or any other website.

- The Author acknowledges that the Geological Society of Spain may withdraw the work from the Revista de la Sociedad Geológica de España after publication, if the results are subsequently found to be unreliable, either due to misconduct or error, or if plagiarism is detected.

Privacy Statement

The Journal of the Geological Society of Spain is responsible for the processing of personal data provided to the journal. The names and e-mail addresses entered in this journal will be used exclusively for the purposes established therein and will not be provided to third parties or used for other purposes.

On the other hand, FECYT acts as the Data Processor for each of the files owned by the different journals. Therefore, FECYT facilitates the exercise of your rights of access, rectification, deletion, limitation of processing, data portability, opposition and the right not to be subject to automated individual decisions, including profiling, by contacting the FECYT headquarters, located at C/ Pintor Murillo 15, 28100 Alcobendas (Madrid, ES), or by sending an email to protecciondatos@fecyt.es, accompanied by proof of your identity.
