Abstract

The concept of ideology has been one of the most controversial in the XX century. Between all the authors who faced its definition stands up Raymond Aron. The french autor holds, along all his works, two fundamental concepts of ideology. The narrow original concept of ideology as a «secular religion», that provides a theologico-political critic of ideologies, was rectified by a more inclusive concept. The dissertation on this change shows some of the main foundations of the french autor’s thought.
