Abstract

This paper aims to provide elements to construct an understanding of the use of the organic metaphor during periods of totalitarianism (Italy and Germany). The Organic State was conceived as a body that needed to be immunized because of the existence of subjects that endangered it. In this way, there was an alliance between the organic metaphor and the immunity paradigm. In what we call immune organicism, the State, as a biological organism, implemented a therapy for diseases that could have infected it.
