Abstract

The article analyses Yannis Stavrakakis’ «The Lacanian Left», a text that analyses writers upholding Lacan’s current of thought, whilst also reflecting the author’s own stance. It looks into the pertinence of Lacan’s writings in order to infer their epistemological value and reviews the consistency and validity of the categories of left and right as constructs. Strategies are suggested for enhancement of Lacan’s contribution to political theory.
