Some notes on the fourth wave of feminism

The objective of this article is twofold. On the one hand, the unique and specific characteristics of the fourth feminist wave are explained in the context of its historical and theoretical genealogy. On the other hand, some of the causes that have made this social explosion possible are identified, among which are the transformations that feminism has experienced in its last decades and the appearance, at the same time, of neoliberal capitalism. Both social realities have had an impact on feminism in different ways, but both have contributed to turning this fourth wave into a mass movement. It is also noted that the heart of the fourth wave of feminism is the fight against sexual violence.
