Procesos de empoderamiento femenino y microfeminismos en parejas heterosexuales en España

Abstract

We know well the family, educational and work results of the silent revolution led by women (Esping-Andersen, 2009), but we are largely unaware of the most intimate processes of these social changes. The first objective of this article is to describe the micro processes of empowerment of baby-boomer women in Spain. The results of a qualitative investigation on the empowerment of 10 women are presented, showing the changes in intimate lives. This analysis of the micro-processes of family empowerment offers an explanation at the individual and couple level of the major family changes in Spain since the Democratic Transition. The second objective is to make a theoretical proposal of the process of female empowerment based on the analysis of micro-actions of living together as a couple. Despite the vital particularities, it has been possible to identify a general scheme of micro-actions that are reactions to micromachisms and are conceptualized as microfeminisms.
