Abstract

This article intends to analize the questions of political decision-making, on the one hand, and the composition and origins of Sa-lazar's ministerial élite, on the other. Within the context of his bro-ader research about Portuguese authoritarian élites, the author tries as well to systematize some elements of comparison between Salazarism and other dictatorships of the years 1933-1945: Fran-quism, Fascism, and National-Socialism.
