Abstract
Antonio Alcalá Galiano (1789-1865) was a thinker and politician of the conservative party. He worked hard to built a new po-litical system based on representative government in Spain in the 19th Century. He also wrote articles and books to analyse this process, that's why his reflections are an interesting way to unders-tand conservative political theory. He was especially interested in the role of the crown, the electoral system and local administration.
