Abstract

This article focuses on a particular event of the Shoah, the mur-der of a group of Jewish children at Bielaia-Tserkov, Ukraine, in Au-gust 1941. The text follows in detail the steps that led to the killing: through the words of the perpetrators, the bystanders, and the commanders who were ultimately responsible, it shows what could have been done, what was done, and what wasn't, as well as the moral evolution of the murderers in a time in which the VI Wehrmacht Army Corps lay still in the grey zone.
