Abstract

This paper analyzes what the Mexican revolution was for Luis Cabrera and José Vasconcelos —two Mexican intellectuals who were critical of what is now called in México the «institutionalized revolution. » This paper examines two of their least known essays, and explains their arguments to challenge the legitimacy of The «revolution turned government.» It compares their «parallel lives» and describes the context in which Cabrera and Vasconcelos wrote the two essays on which this paper focuses.
